G’day, eh — I’m Steve!

I’m Steve, a gay, tech-minded nerd, video game enthusiast, hockey player and fan, and communications expert. I was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and have called Melbourne, Victoria, Australia my home for more than twenty-five years.

I started my first website, Stevivor.com, back in 2000 ahead of what was meant to be a three-month working holiday in Australia. I eventually decided to emigrate, and what started as a travel blog soon became the country’s leading independent video games outlet.

‘Stevivor’ is a combination of ‘Steve’ and ‘Survivor’, which made more sense back in 2001 when Jeff Probst was up in Queensland.

I also adore Star Trek, helping to cover video games about the long-running franchise on TrekMovie.com.

By day, I work as the communications manager of the peak body representing Victorians as they age.
